This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of AnswerVault ("the Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.
What You Can Do
You may use the Service for its intended purpose:
- Create and manage a fact vault of your organisation's ESG and sustainability data
- Upload evidence documents relevant to your ESG questionnaire responses
- Create questionnaire requests and respond to ESG questions
- Use the suggestion engine to find relevant facts for questions
- Export questionnaire responses as PDF, XLSX, or ZIP files
- Manage team members within your organisation
- Access the audit log and analytics features included in your subscription tier
- Use the referral programme to invite other organisations
What You Must Not Do
Illegal or Harmful Activity
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
- Upload or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or otherwise unlawful
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any other criminal activity
- Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
System Abuse
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or the underlying infrastructure
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without prior written authorisation
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security features
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools to extract data beyond your account's normal functionality
- Use the Service to build a competing product or service
Resource Abuse
- Exceed the usage limits of your subscription tier through automated means
- Deliberately attempt to overload the Service or consume disproportionate resources
- Use the Service as a general-purpose file storage or backup service
- Upload malicious files (viruses, malware, trojans, or any harmful code)
Account Misuse
- Share your account credentials with individuals outside your organisation
- Create multiple free trial accounts to circumvent trial limitations
- Misrepresent your identity or organisational affiliation
- Use another person's account without their authorisation
Consequences of Violation
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions, depending on severity:
- Warning — For minor or first-time violations, we will notify you and request that you cease the prohibited activity.
- Suspension — For repeated violations, we may temporarily suspend your access. Your data remains stored but is inaccessible.
- Termination — For severe violations, we may permanently terminate your account with 30 days' notice where reasonably possible.
Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation by another user, please report it to support@answervault.co.uk. Reports are treated confidentially.
